What motivates you to wake up and go to work?
A sense of pride for a job well done, and a means to put food on the table along with the stability needed to start a family of my own.
What do you do at our company? Explain.
I help run the slitter. We cut down large rolls of steel into the widths needed to make our tubing.
What makes you wake up and come to work every day?
The company depends on my department as the first stage of production. If I miss work, my partner will have to work twice as hard to keep the wheels of the company turning.
What has been your favorite project (or aspect of your job) so far?
I always like the sense of accomplishment that comes with manufacturing jobs. At the end of the day, you can literally look at what you have done and feel good about it.
Apart from your work, what are some side projects or hobbies you have outside of the office?
I enjoy reading as a way to take a break from the real world. I also love camping and the mountains in general.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I grew up as an army brat and, as a result, I usually catch myself changing my dialect depending on who I talk to.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received? Did you take it?
My dad told me a long time ago that every mistake I’ve made or will make, he has already made or probably knows someone who has, and I could save myself a lot of trouble by just asking him first. I’ve not always been great about heeding that advice but I’ve gotten better as I age.
